Inside Twoday Lithuania's BI team

Job ads are full of buzzwords like modern tech stack, cutting-edge tools and growth opportunities. But what does that actually mean in real life? After more than five years as a BI developer at Twoday, I want to show you what it’s really like to work in our BI team in Lithuania – the real projects we build, the technologies we use every day and the culture behind the job descriptions.
-By Andrius Gunka, Principal Data Engineer

At Twoday, working with the latest technologies isn’t just a phrase. We deliberately focus on customers who already use modern cloud platforms or are actively migrating to them. That means our daily work is built around solutions that are relevant today rather than systems that should have been retired years ago.

Most of our projects are based on Microsoft Azure, but we're not limited to a single ecosystem. Some customers build on Google Cloud, and our integrations span everything from SAP and APIs to files, databases and streaming sources. This variety keeps the work challenging and ensures you never stop learning.

A few years ago, we started working with Microsoft Fabric – the next-generation unified data platform. While many companies are still experimenting, we already have production systems running on Fabric with our largest customers. If you're looking for hands-on experience with new platforms early on, this is the place.

Our technology stack in practice

Every project is different, but our BI team works with a shared foundation of modern tools.

  • Data integration: Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions. Additional tools include AecorSoft, Azure Synapse Analytics and Power Query.
  • Data processing: T-SQL, C#, Java and Python notebooks in Databricks.
  • Data visualization and modelling: Power BI, Tableau and dbt.
  • Data analysis: Anaplan, Power BI, Databricks on Azure and Microsoft Fabric.

We build solutions using proven data modeling approaches such as Data Vault, dimensional models, tabular models and lakehouse architectures. All projects follow CI/CD best practices with Git and Azure DevOps, so quality and performance are expected from day one.

Projects that keep you growing

We work on long-term projects that involve large volumes of data across diverse industries, including finance, mining, transportation, logistics and even paper manufacturing. Each project comes with its own data challenges, creating continuous opportunities for learning and professional growth.

A single customer may have multiple data projects – one might involve near-real-time solutions, while another could focus on cost estimation processes that require implementing Azure-based services tailored to specific needs. No two projects feel the same, which keeps your skills evolving.

A team that helps you level up

In Lithuania, our BI team has more than 40 members, most of them senior-level professionals with experience across many industries and project types. This creates a strong environment for knowledge sharing and close collaboration, so you're never left to solve complex problems on your own.

At the same time, you're also part of a wider Twoday BI community of more than 700 experts across five different countries and technical backgrounds, which gives you access to a huge pool of ideas, experience and best practices.

People first, always

We believe that great workplaces aren't built through policies or hierarchy, but through trust, openness and people who genuinely care about what they do and the colleagues they work with. That's why, instead of traditional managers, we have coaches who focus on supporting and guiding rather than controlling.

If you see a better way of doing something, you're encouraged to act on it. Taking ownership, sharing ideas and improving how we work is part of everyday life here – and it's one of the main reasons people choose to stay at Twoday.

Looking ahead

The entire Twoday Group is strategically focused on becoming a leading provider of Data and Analytics services. In Lithuania, this means continuous growth and real career opportunities for BI professionals who want to shape the future of data.

If you're tired of outdated tools, rigid hierarchies and empty promises, it might be time to see what real BI work looks like. Check our open positions: https://www.twoday.com/careers
