What career growth looks at twoday

Growth is one of those words you hear often – but it means something different to everyone.  Sometimes, growth means jumping into a new project with zero prior experience. Sometimes, it means learning from mistakes, building confidence through tough challenges, or being trusted before you feel fully ready.

At twoday, we believe growth doesn’t have to look one specific way. For some, it’s technical depth. For others, it’s leadership, switching domains, or just learning something new every week.

With more than 3000 people across the Nordics and Lithuania, every journey is different. Here are two real stories of what growth looks like – from Julie in Norway and Artturi in Finland.

Julie’s story: “Say yes first. Figure it out later.”

Role: Analytics & BI Lead Consultant
Location: Norway
Years at twoday: 5

For Julie growth has never meant staying comfortable. It’s meant saying yes to challenges, backing herself under pressure, and learning in public – even when it’s tough.

That mindset – driven by curiosity, courage, and a lot of heart – has defined her five years at twoday. “I joined with one clear goal: to work with Data & AI,” she says. “I also knew I wanted to be a consultant because it meant exposure to a variety, and real-world complexity.”

She wasn’t just looking for a job. She was looking for a challenge – and she found one.

Backed by trust, fueled by curiosity

Julie’s story is full of moments where others believed in her before she fully believed in herself.

Consulting appealed to her because it offered the chance to grow across industries and technologies – but it was twoday’s people and culture that sealed the decision. “I had a strong sense that I would learn from the best people here – and that has absolutely been true,” she says.

In her first years, she led national Power BI trainings, gave guest lectures at NTNU, presented at conferences, and ran webinars. Those experiences stretched her but helped her build confidence and visibility.

“To me, growth happens when you’re trusted before you feel ready,” Julie says. “That mix of push and support – that’s what builds real confidence.” Her journey reflects twoday’s values – not just heart, but drive. A culture where people open doors, not guard them.

From consultant to AI Lead

Today, Julie leads a team developing AI and machine learning models at Vy, one of the largest transport providers in the Nordics. She also acts as Lead for 17 twoday colleagues, helping align delivery, support, and collaboration.

“It’s one of the biggest growth opportunities I’ve had,” she says. “Being trusted with that level of responsibility has made a huge difference.”

Her role blends deep tech work with people leadership – from model development and data strategy to mentoring and stakeholder communication.

“It’s not just about building solutions,” she says. “It’s about creating the kind of environment where others can thrive too.”

The real side of growth

Her journey hasn’t been all smooth. She’s walked into workshops unprepared, stumbled through steep learning curves, and felt the pressure of visibility. But she didn’t let those moments define her – she used them.

“Preparation, humility, and kindness go a long way,” she says. “And real growth? It’s just as much about lifting others as it is about climbing yourself.”

Now, Julie sees her role not just as a contributor – but as a multiplier. For her, growth isn’t about chasing a title. It’s about building others up, while continuing to stretch herself.

Artturi’s story: “Grow with purpose. Lead with trust.”

Role: Head of Development
Location: Finland
Years at twoday: 13

For Artturi Närhinen, growth has never been about chasing promotions. It’s been about setting clear goals, earning trust, and staying grounded through change.

From Intern to Head of Development, his path shows what happens when capability meets consistency – and when people give you the space to grow.

“I’ve always been goal-oriented,” he says. “But growth, to me, is about creating value. Not just for myself – but for the people I work with.”

2-3

Trusted early, evolved with purpose

Artturi started at twoday in 2012 with a simple approach: say yes, stay curious, and add value wherever possible. While still studying, he took on testing responsibilities and built a reputation as someone who could be counted on.

“I tried to be the go-to person. Not just for tasks, but for trust,” he says. That trust led to his first leadership roles – especially in major public sector projects, including a long-running collaboration in healthcare that continues to this day.

From delivery to development leadership

As Artturi gained experience, his role naturally expanded. In 2022, with encouragement from his manager, he took a step away from purely client-facing work and moved into a more strategic role – one focused on growing people and improving how teams operate.

As Head of Development, he took on broader responsibilities like recruitment, team culture, skill-building, and process improvement. It marked a turning point – shifting from doing the work himself to helping others do it even better.

At the same time, he remained close to the client side, continuing as a Solution Architect for one of twoday’s long-standing partners. “It’s about understanding systems,” he says. “But also understanding people – how they work, what they need, and how to help them succeed.”

Learning by doing – and failing sometimes

Artturi is open about the role that failure has played in his development. “I’ve made plenty – some small, some that really pushed me,” he says. “But that’s part of growing. If you’re never failing, you’re probably not pushing yourself enough.”

Instead of avoiding those moments, he’s used them to sharpen his thinking and expand his skillset – from documenting more clearly to having tough conversations, mentoring others, and learning when to step back.

“Over time, I’ve shifted from solving problems on my own to helping others grow into that role,” he says. “That’s been the biggest change – building an environment where people can succeed together.”

Not just a goal, but a journey

Growth could happen in different ways – but always with room to stay true to yourself. It’s not just about promotions or titles. Growth can mean switching projects, exploring new technologies, stepping into leadership, or solving problems you’ve never faced before.

There’s no single path – and no one definition. That’s why we focus on creating multiple ways to grow, and just as many ways to define what growth means to you.
