One April afternoon, I met Linnéa at the Röda Sten skatepark in Gothenburg. Beneath the Älvsborg Bridge, she drops confidently into the ramp – focused, calm, and fully present. She lets her body lead, tries new tricks, and pushes her limits. Not once does she lose her balance. It’s clear that skating is far more than a hobby for her – it’s a space where she enters a deeply focused state of mind.
“It’s kind of like therapy. I disconnect from everything else by being completely in the moment,” Linnéa says.
Linnéa’s journey into board sports began with snowboarding. But when she wanted something that gave her the same feeling, closer to everyday life, she discovered skateboarding. Five years ago, she signed up for a women’s skate event in Gothenburg – and that marked the beginning of an entirely new world.
“I’d never really thought skateboarding was for me – maybe because I hadn’t seen anyone who looked like me out there. But the community was so welcoming. Suddenly, it just felt natural.”
That moment sparked a growing passion for skateboarding, closely tied to her love of surfing and snowboarding. She describes it as a blend of movement, community, and creativity – where every new challenge becomes a way to get to know herself a little better.
“There’s always something new to learn. You’re constantly evolving – both physically and mentally.”
Outside of skateboarding, Linnéa finds energy in other forms of movement: running, yoga, and spending time in nature. But she also thrives in contrast – through knitting, long breakfasts, and quality time with friends and family.
"Anything that makes both my body and mind feel good is important to me. I need both."
As a person, Linnéa is driven by curiosity and a thirst for adventure – something that’s reflected in everything she does, from trying new tricks at the skatepark to traveling and exploring new environments. When she travels, her running shoes are usually the first thing she packs – a run is a simple way to get to know a new environment.
“A short jog is all it takes to discover a whole new side of a place.”
The mindset she’s developed through board sport – to try, adjust, and try again – carries over into other parts of her life as well. It’s not about performance, but about staying in motion, daring to be a beginner, and gradually building courage.
"Everyone was a beginner once. The important thing is to dare to try."
During our time at Röda Sten, it becomes clear that Linnéa doesn’t just master the board – she thrives in the open, experimental mindset that skateboarding brings. And even though she’s far from a beginner now, it’s the joy of progress and the sense of community that continue to drive her forward.
It’s the same mindset she brings into her work as a BI consultant.
“In both skating and work, you need to be curious, dare to try, fail a bit – and then find new ways. That’s how I learn the most.”
Linnéa Fransson joined us straight after graduation as part of our Graduate Program. Today, she works as a BI Consultant based in Gothenburg, helping clients collect, analyze, and visualize data to support smarter, more data-driven decisions
