twoday has been named one of just seven Anchor Partners and will play a key role as Microsoft launches its first datacenter in Denmark.
“We are very proud and honored to be selected as an Anchor Partner for the launch of Microsoft’s new datacenter region in Denmark—a milestone that marks a new era for cloud infrastructure and data sovereignty for Danish businesses and organizations. Being entrusted with the responsibility of supporting some of Denmark’s largest companies and organizations on their cloud journey is a strong recognition of our deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, as well as my colleagues’ ability to deliver real business value to our customers. That makes me incredibly proud,” says Lars Berthelsen, Country Managing Director for twoday Denmark.
At Microsoft, there is also excitement about announcing twoday as an Anchor Partner.
“We’re pleased to welcome twoday as our Anchor Partner in connection with the launch of our first datacenter in Denmark, and we look forward to expanding our partnership. We already have a close collaboration with twoday and have seen firsthand how they help some of the largest Danish companies with their deep knowledge of Microsoft services and solutions. That’s why we are confident in appointing them as our Anchor Partner,” says Helle Huus, Director of Enterprise Commercial, Microsoft Denmark
Benefits for Customers
According to Lars Berthelsen, the appointment as Anchor Partner brings clear benefits for twoday's customers.
“From our day-to-day work, we know that Danish companies and organizations are concerned about uncertainties and threats—including how to secure IT infrastructure and prepare for sudden geopolitical changes. At the same time, businesses also want to become more sustainable and are increasingly exploring how IT can support their sustainability goals,” explains Lars Berthelsen.
He continues:
“We believe Microsoft’s new Danish datacenter can play a crucial role in addressing these concerns. That’s why we’re excited that, as Microsoft’s Anchor Partner, we can offer our customers unique opportunities—helping them achieve technical readiness to face market and global uncertainties, while also hosting their data and workloads in a green datacenter located within Denmark’s borders.”
Looking Forward to Host Data in Denmark
Since Microsoft announced in 2020 its plans to build a datacenter in Denmark, many companies have eagerly anticipated the ability to host their data and workloads locally. One such company is Spar Nord, a major Danish bank that has impressively migrated more than 500 servers to the cloud in just one year.
“At Spar Nord, we already use several Microsoft services. We also have a clear cloud-first strategy and operate in a highly regulated industry. Therefore, we are very interested in exploring the advantages of placing our data in a Danish datacenter like the one Microsoft is launching,” says Michael Hjorth, Director of IT Operations and Development at Spar Nord.
He concludes:
“Furthermore, sustainability is extremely important to Spar Nord. That’s why it means a lot to us that Microsoft’s Danish datacenter is green and can support our ESG strategy from day one.”
