When the Danish Working Environment Authority conducts inspections at Danish workplaces, makes decisions, and works to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, it relies on a digital infrastructure that must perform every single day. That is why the Danish Working Environment Authority and Twoday are continuing their collaboration on the development, operation, and modernization of the Authority’s core business systems through a new framework agreement with a duration of up to four years and a total value of more than DKK 200 million.

The agreement covers development, maintenance, application operations, and advisory services related to the Authority’s most business-critical systems. The use of AI is a central element of the delivery and will be expanded further under the new agreement, including integration into the core systems themselves.

The new agreement builds on a close partnership in which Twoday has, since 2022, helped modernize the Danish Working Environment Authority’s IT landscape and establish a more robust and future-proof digital foundation for its work.

Technology in the service of workplace safety

The Authority’s systems support the planning, execution, and reporting of inspections, as well as the management of data and registers that are essential to its daily operations.

"We are both proud and humbled that the Danish Working Environment Authority has chosen to continue its collaboration with Twoday. Strong public authorities require strong digital foundations, and our most important task is to ensure that technology supports employees in their work and makes it easier to solve an important societal mission," says Imran Rafique, Director, Digital Engineering at Twoday.

The delivery will be organized around seven agile teams consisting of approximately 40 specialists in architecture, development, operations, and advisory services. Together, the teams will ensure both stable operations and the continued development of the Authority’s digital solutions.

From complex legacy systems to a modern platform

Over the past few years, the Danish Working Environment Authority and Twoday have worked purposefully to modernize the Authority’s digital landscape, including through the use of AI.

The work has involved phasing out legacy system components and establishing a more flexible and future-proof architecture, making it easier to evolve the solutions in line with new requirements and changing needs.

Modernization is not only about developing new solutions. It is also about ensuring the stable operation of systems that employees and organizations depend on every day.

"We have been very satisfied with our collaboration with Twoday, which has proven to be a responsible supplier and a highly competent sparring partner. They have also helped us gain valuable insights into the development of our service layers, and we look forward to continuing the collaboration," says Kirsten Brink Hansen, Head of Digitalization and Data at the Danish Working Environment Authority.

A digital foundation for an important societal mission

Technology is not the goal in itself. But when digital solutions work, employees at the Danish Working Environment Authority are better able to focus on their core mission: creating a safe and healthy working environment for Danish employees.

The new agreement will take effect in the autumn of 2026.
