New features in Microsoft 365 Copilot

In recent months, several new and useful features have been added to Microsoft Copilot, making work smoother and more efficient for users. From easier document creation and editing to interacting directly with Copilot in more Microsoft 365 applications. Here are three of the new features in Copilot:

1. More efficient work with Copilot in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

When using Copilot in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, you can now ask Copilot to add information based on content from your chats, documents, meetings, and emails, not just the currently open file as before. This can be useful when, for example, you need to send an email and want to easily add older meeting notes.

In addition to using Copilot’s mobile app, you can now also interact with Copilot directly in the mobile apps for Microsoft 365, Word, and PowerPoint, providing a smoother and more unified experience for users, whether working from mobile or computer, and making it easier to complete tasks on the go.

2. Interact with Copilot directly in Outlook

Besides writing emails, you can now access Copilot directly in your Outlook. Copilot in Outlook can help you with everything from finding a specific email, summarizing your meetings, to listing emails in your inbox that contain specific actions you need to take. By asking questions like "What’s the latest email from my boss?", you can now more easily and efficiently go through your inbox.

3. Restricted search in SharePoint

In April, the ability for restricted searches for Copilot in SharePoint was launched. The new feature offers increased security by allowing IT administrators to more easily exclude specific SharePoint pages from Copilot's search results, thereby also protecting sensitive information within the organization. The new feature is disabled by default, so it is up to each organization to activate it if needed.
